Monitoring all types of import shipments and clearance within the free time allocated from port authorities. Also, responsible to handle the materials in good condition and delivered to respective areas/locations.
Job Requirements:
· Review all shipping documents related to Import Shipments.
· Follow up with local ship agent to release the delivery order in order o process the customs document to clear the shipment
· Inform incoming materials details to sales team, logistics team, and store prior to the shipment arrival
· Material visual inspection like rusty, damages before moving from the port to storage yard
· Planning of movement of materials in various locations
· Responsible for the movement of material to customers facility
· Monitor stock accumulation, identify discrepancies in GRN, and take corrective action
· Analyse all aspects of logistics to identify cost effective related to transportation
· Verify and maintain records in outgoing shipments, examine shipment contents and compare with record such as packing list
· Maintain shipment data such as vessel arrival, material description, quantity, weight and free storage
· Handle necessary documents as well as customs clearance formalities for efficient, cost effective and lawful execution of all activities
· Streamline operations and customs documentation at all major sea ports applying knowledge with all competent authorities, logistics procedures and documentation requirements
· Identify opportunities for cost savings such as transportation, port/shipping demurrages
· Direct loading/unloading of materials, overseas movement, relocating and stacking to and from storage or productions areas
· Inspect, count and validate the materials at every point of break down, ensuring that goods are correctively received/ dispatched in accordance within established service standards.
· Coordinate with all international agents, shipping lines and road transporters contact carrier representative to make arrangements to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials, correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems s such as damages shortages.
· Co-ordination with insurance company if any materials received in damage/ shortage
· Help plan and implement strategy or activities consistent with over all aim organization.
