Contract Engineer Job Description
1. Invite, assess, and award/recommend subcontractor /supplier quotations, and proposals.
2. Negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors on lead-time, cost and quality so as to reach the most appropriate proposal.
3. Coordinate with concerned departments to assure supplier/subcontractor selection.
4. Select the awarded suppliers /subcontractors based on the best technical & financial offer that matches with the project's requirements.
5. prepare, negotiate and review contract terms and conditions with the appropriate suppliers/subcontractor to meet the project's needs including purchases, sales and business partnerships.
6. Prepare necessary documents/reports and analysis related to contractual issues.
7. Ensure all contracts conform to legislative requirements and meet company goals and stay up-to-date with legislative changes and coordinate with the legal department as needed
8. Follow up on the submission by subcontractor/supplier of all required bank guarantees, warranties, insurances and other specified documentation and verifies their acceptability in accordance with Conditions of Contract
9. Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving subcontractor performance to decide whether or not to continue dealing with them.
10. Assist Project Team with reviewing, commenting and responding to subcontractor correspondences. Besides advising, in particular, upon any contractual/commercial aspects raised therein.
11. Complete final settlement and close-out of the contract by coordinating with Contractors/Project Team.
