Procurement Engineer Job Description
1. Assist in Cost Estimate studies based on estimated value and latest prices of items and materials for any project/tender and Supplying other department with all required data.
2. Study the Project/Tender documents (drawings, specifications, and schedule, etc. to be able to follow up on materials required and locate potential vendors and suppliers/subcontractors.
3. Issuing the request for quotation (RFQ) including the scope of work to the selected subcontractors/ suppliers to get their technical & financial offers.
4. Prepare the comparison sheets between subcontractors / suppliers in accordance with estimate & benchmark prices in order to evaluate the submitted quotations technically and financially.
5. Select products for purchase by analyzing cost and quality of items in conjunction with department heads.
6. Prepare the full project’s procurement plan and specify the priorities and possible suppliers
7. Prepare, manage and follow up material requests and purchase orders in accordance with the Procurement Plan.
8. Tracking orders to ensure that products are delivered in a timely manner and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory.
9. Prepare suppliers/ subcontractors payments schedules to suit the project's needs.
10. Follow Up the payments of the suppliers and subcontractors with the different departments.
11. Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
12. Create and manage database via the Internet, catalogs, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers/subcontractors.
