The jobholder will be responsible for overall effective and efficient administration, assessment, and settlement of Commercial claims (Liability - Financial lines, Casualty, Medical claims and the like) in accordance with the professional claims’ management procedures and customer excellence standards.
Guide the fast-track adjusters on technical issues pertaining to terms and conditions of the policy when referred to them.
Approval and management of external Adjusters and follow up for reports thereof.
Engage the external Adjusters for claims management on coverage issues, loss minimization and recovery rights and assessments for standard claims.
Reserve management and settlement of claims within delegated authority
Client engagement for Documentation. Handle any customer issues / internal problems that require immediate attention.
Handle, review and approve medium claims within authority limits.
Prepare and recommend large and complex claims for approval of competent authority.
Manage interaction with other entities including accounts, reinsurers, underwriting, brokers, branches and legal team.
Monitor the validity of claims notified and ensure timely settlement of all claims adhering to customer service standards.
Manage recovery process on potential subrogated recoveries.
Review periodically outstanding claims for closures.
Handle any customer issues / internal problems that require immediate attention and escalations thereof.
Liaise with the relevant department to discuss underwriting/RI/legal issues.
Ensure consistency in implementation of GI claims processes and guidelines and compliance within the regulatory requirements.
Implement the robust claims investigation process and network with investigative agencies.
Ensure adherence to overall departmental KPIs and internal and external SLAs.
Ensure review of relevant management information systems claims, operating costs, claim exposures and loss ratio and report the same to competent authority.
Quarterly review of the Outstanding legal claims across LoBs in Commercial Claims department
Stay updated with the Compliance and Sanctions requirements.
