• Design, develop, and deliver infrastructure for internet and intranet applications.
• Perform script-based automation of day-to-day business activities including network maintenance events, patching events, resiliency events, server and application deployments.
• Partner closely with application developers to support web sites, portals, or applications hosted on servers.
• Strong experience in HTTP Servers and Application Servers as well as an understanding of Domain Name Server (DNS) management for creating virtual servers for sites and
applications.
• Require expertise in operating systems; usually Unix (Linux, AIX, etc)
• Use Unix command prompt and scripting skills are important as configuring products is heavily based on scripting as opposed to graphical user interfaces.
• Participation in design and project meetings
• Provides escalated technical support by handling systems-related issues; will provide on call technical support
• Ability to create and configure highly available and clustered environments.
• Ability to plan for DR site.
• Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications, and development tools
• Assist with server and storage capacity planning for complex and critical systems.
• Use the application monitoring tools and scripted alerts, to perform problem investigation and resolution in coordination with the application support teams.
• Perform daily application health checks for CPU Utilization, Memory Heap Utilization, Thread usage, and response times
• Attend meetings with staff to discuss logistical concerns and to develop schedules and timelines.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on administration experience in a WebSphere Application Server clustered environment (WAS ND) or any application server environment
• Working Knowledge of J2EE application platform configuration and performance optimization.
• Hands on experience in the installation, configuration, tuning/sizing, clustering, deployment and problem resolution
• Experience in Installing and configuring IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus is plus.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
