KBR is looking for a Senior Architectural Design Engineer for Majnoon EPCM project to be based in Abu Dhabi - UAE.
Project:
State Company Head Quarters development project in Basra Iraq
High Rise Tower(s)
Project to accommodate 5000-7000 employees
Architect to be based in Abu Dhabi UAE with business travel to Iraq as needed
Job duties:
Produce concept, schematic, and detailed drawings in line with project briefs and within agreed timeframes, to a standard required by the client including the required level of information, presentation, and documentation control.
Coordinate construction projects at Concept, Select, Define and Execute stages of the project life cycle, including engineering (Pre-FEED, FEED, DD), procurement and construction.
Coordinate with the team in developing tender documentation & specification
Preparation of feasibility design studies & assembly of informative reports based on Clients brief and Design guidelines.
Developing master plans and architectural prototypes for mixed use projects.
Proficient in providing innovative Concept designs and reports in coordination with the various design disciplines.
Leading project direction as well as coordination with structural & MEP engineers, building services specialists and other teams.
Regular coordination with the assigned Drafting Team to ensure uniformity in design and drafting activities in addition to checking drawings against design basis and mark-ups before issue
Work collaboratively with development teams, internal departments, and outside agencies and stakeholders to execute projects in coordination with all applicable standards, codes, guidelines, regulatory requirements and meeting all project requirements.
Prepare documents for consultant and contractor solicitation and bidding such as a Request for Proposal (RFP), Scope of Work (SOW), or Invitation to Tender (ITT). Evaluate proposals for consultant and contractor selections.
Liaising with a team of architects, engineers & multi-disciplinary designers to produce high quality design work, reports & documentation in the form of client deliverables.
Handling a client facing role & review as well as always representing the professionalism of the organization
Ability to abide to timelines set by project heads with responsive turnarounds
Accountable for the accuracy and quality of work
Be able to represent the company at municipal / local authorities and provide appropriate solutions to any dilemmas that may arise
Consistently seek to improve the company's design & operational quality efficiently & intuitively.
Assume responsibility for developing a specialist interest. For example, sustainable design, roof detailing, timber specifying, paint specifying etc.
Demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of the scope of works for the whole range of sub consultants. i.e.: HVAC systems, lighting level coordination, acoustical requirements.
Demonstrate knowledge of Client/ Operators procedures and standards to enable the compliance of design.
Ensure sub-consultants requirements are adequately incorporated in drawing packages
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Membership with a recognized professional architectural body & graduation from a reputed university will be beneficial.
Must have 12-15 years demonstrable experience in works related to projects within Middle East.
Must have worked for well-regarded design consultancies as opposed to contractors
Record of engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong sense of concept design and competitive winning work with a proven track record of major project delivery [in the form of a portfolio].
Experience of design / construction in High rise and a variety of building types (Commercial and hospitality)
Strong conceptual thinking.
Excellent Proficient in the use of concept design tools: Sketchup / Revit / 3D Max, AutoCAD etc.
Familiar with Local Codes of Practice.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
A resilient work ethic with attention to detail, design quality, aesthetics & market trends.
Very Good verbal /written communication [well versed in English] and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Green Building principles
