Engineer | Process Control System (Saudi Arabia)

JOB PURPOSE :

Lead and manage the all the activities related to plant Level1 process control system in SPLP in order to achieve performance targets.
Monitor and Modify Process Control Systems such as PLC’s, drives, automation systems for optimal performance under the section guidelines and Process requirements in a safe manner.
Provide technical support and expertise to the Maintenance Manager in regard to the Plant Level1 automation and control systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The following are the key accountabilities for which only this role is accountable, indicating the percentage (%) of time spent:

Identifying and evaluating potential / existing EHSS problems, suggesting solutions and recommending suitable corrective measures.
Participate in activities including incident investigations associated with removal of hazards at his working area.

Actively participate in the implementation programs like Reliability,sustanibilty, ISO, manfacturing effectiveness, Automation security etc.
Organize and assist in training programs for new Technicians and Saudi Trainees as agreed by the Manager maintenance. Monitor training progress and job performance.

Ensure all the process control system (PLC/HMI) program/software is updated at regular intervals and their current copies are available easily for the plant usage.
Ensure the Process Control System (PLC/HMI) Software/Hardware Documentation is current and makes updates as necessary to the system.
Performs a trouble-shooting role when plant automation problems arising in the shift goes beyond the scope of the Shift Supervisor and Foremen.
Make necessary related arrangement with other Engineers/Specialists to overcome any problem arising in the plant that requires their involvement across their functional boundaries as required.
Ensures that spares for Process Control Systems such as PLC’s, drives, automation systems are available and reviews them on a timely basis.

Performs technical analysis of systems and equipment’s, ensure their reliability during operations.Prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Checks and monitors that all the Automation work performed & meets with the standards approved by the Maintenance Manager.
Liaises closely with Supervisors, Planers, other automation engineers and specialists of SPLP to ensure the optimum availability of the plant and equipment’s.
Researches technological literature in order to remain up to date with technical improvements in the Automation to keep the SPLP maintenance up to date with latest technology suitable to the process requirement.

Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested by the Manager Maintenance & his superior.
Recommends and drafts design changes for new projects/installations and review/modifies related drawings and documents when existing equipment is altered/modified and for new projects.


Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications: (Degree, training, or certification required): Engineering degree, preferably in Applied Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering.

Minimum Experience: (Technical, functional, and/or leadership experience required): 3 Years minimum experience in relevant field.
