REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications: (Degree, training, or certification required):

- Engineering degree preferably in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.

Minimum Experience: (Technical, functional, and/or leadership experience required):
- 1 year period of job familiarization in plant automation.

Job Specific Skills: (Key functional, leadership, or business skills required)

- Spoken & Written English – Very Good.
- PC Skill - Very Good.

Competencies: (Key functional, leadership, or business competencies required)

- Communication (Very Good in Spoken/Written English)

JOB PURPOSE :

Provides the software support and services in terms of system, application and information reporting in a real time distributed process control computer environment. Responsible for the efficient operation of the Level 2 systems and reports activities of Melt shop, ladle furnace, CCM, Scrap yard, Laboratory and Level 3 communications. Liaises with hardware maintenance agency responsible for maintaining very high uptime of the system.

Requirements
The following are the key accountabilities for which only this role is accountable, indicating the percentage (%) of time spent:

25% - To carry out the necessary modification in the application software and to effect changes in the process control or in data-logging or monitoring as requested from Melt or Casting Shop from time to time, Scrap Yard, Laboratory and Level 3 Communications.
15% - To identify and solve system-related malfunctions, typical of real time system, such as communication deadlock, indefinite wait, etc. in a network environment.
15% - Carry out preventive maintenance of the software system – checking and monitoring system resource usage, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly backup and archiving as appropriate and maintain a log book for problem reporting.
15% - To provide hardware support in emergency situations to the extent of localizing the fault to a subsystem level.
10% - To identify and correct the application software bug, which may surface from time to time.
10% - To develop new application of software or tailor the standard software, the need arising due to added subsystem, new hardware interfaces, to provide better man-machine interaction or to optimize the system resources.
10% - Coordinate with Level-3 production planning and Level-1 Basic automation personnel.
