Conduct Laboratory & Field testing of water-based & oil-based drilling fluids as per API RP 13B-1 & API RP 13B-2 in safe, efficient and effective manner.
Perform laboratory testing of drilling fluids materials for their specifications as per API Specification 13A.
Maintain periodic equipment calibration, repair schedule. Debugging test setups and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
Maintain up-to-date inventory of lab testing equipment & spare parts in the database and update on monthly basis.
Maintain adequate inventory of replacement parts, supplies for test equipment and chemicals.
Provide support in mud QA/QC testing for chemicals and equipment to field operations.
Provide rapid and accurate response to mud-related field inquiries.
Applies working knowledge of test procedures and techniques in evaluation and recommendation of new mud systems.
Formulation of drilling fluids with specific physical and chemical characteristics
Provide analysis of corrosion rings.
Maintain up-to-date SDS information on database.
Documents lab testing & product evaluation reports, standard operating procedures, progress in laboratory notebooks, etc.
Communicates occasionally with technical client personnel.
Occasionally travels to off-site locations to assist on field testing of drilling fluids/products and provide support in the field trials.
Organizes and coordinates all activities associated with drilling fluids lab operations.
Organize and store all chemical substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
